Governance

Evergreen joined the Software Freedom Conservancy on June 16, 2011
- So what?
Provides assurances that the Evergreen project will always be free software
Central point for donations, conference funds, possibly joint development projects

OpenLibrary partnership

Cover art, table of contents, excerpts
Borrowing (over 100,000 electronic books)
- Requires a free OpenLibrary account
- Integrated into catalogue
- Note: need to add to "Electronic books" Web page

Simplifying user accounts

User name = email address
No more barcode numbers
No addresses or phone numbers by default (better privacy protection)
No more manual entry (in most cases)
Data sourced centrally and synchronized regularly
TODO: disable user ability to change user name and email address
New student load begins next week!

Self-check reconfiguration

Found and resolved a number of corner-case bugs that were biting us
- Some problems on Evergreen’s side
- Some problems in the self-check unit’s settings
Have made the network connection more robust
Performance is better, but could still be improved

Centralized loading of consortial MARC records

CRKN CUP, OUP, and T&F records are in process
- CRKN CUP records have been (re)loaded as of today

Upgrade to Evergreen 2.2 in December
- Fast new catalogue
  - Plays well with Internet Explorer, cell phones, even text browsers!
- Bound-withs / tête-bêches
- Numerous performance / stability improvements
