EAD Revision Under Way

The Technical Subcommittee for Encoded Archival Description (TS-EAD) is currently in the process of revising EAD. The tentative timeline for the revision is as follows:

• October 2010: Call for comments
• February 28, 2011: Deadline for comments
• August 2011: Discussion forum at SAA Annual Meeting
• Spring 2012: Working meeting of TS-EAD
• August 2013: Release of Beta schema for testing and comment
• March 1, 2014: Deadline for comments on draft EAD schema
• Winter 2015: Submit EAD3 to SAA Standards Committee and SAA Council for official adoption
