SCHEME-SPECIFIC CONVENTIONS
Dewey Decimal Classification - Primary use
of this field is for the Dewey Decimal
Classification. Segmentation marks are used to show the
end of the Abridged edition part of a Full edition number. In
the past, segmentation marks were also used to show where
Table 1 (Standard subdivision) notation was added to DDC
numbers.
