FIELD DEFINITION AND SCOPE

Information about meeting rooms or other facilities associated with the community information entity that are available for use by others. Coded availability information may be contained in field 008/11 (Fixed-length Data Elements/Meeting rooms and facilities available).

Other facilities examples are swimming pools, bowling alleys, or theaters. The data in subfields $b-$h, $m, and $p pertain to the meeting room or facility mentioned in subfield $a or to the equipment mentioned in subfield $e if subfield $a is not present. Accommodations for people with disabilities, fees, and other information associated with the community information entity per se can also be found in the 5XX note fields.

Information as to the type of meeting room or facility that is available, e.g., a swimming pool, a baseball field, etc. It may also contain general information regarding space that is available.

Name of the meeting room or facility that is available and where it is located.

Physical description of the meeting room or facility. Capacity information is recorded in subfield $d.

For instance, for a swimming pool, it can contain information as to whether there are lanes for swimming laps; for an auditorium, it can give information as to whether there is a stage, whether the room is carpeted, etc.
