Explain element maxTerms

Issue raised by: Maria Bruna Baldacci 15 Feb 1996

Synopsis:
What is the meaning of the Explain element "maxTerms", defined as "The maximum number of terms supported in one search request".

Response:
This is somewhat subject to target interpretation. It could mean the maximum number of operands in the search, or operands of the form "attributesPlusTerm". Or there is another possibility:
Consider the example where result set A is the result of the search "cat" AND "dog"; and result set B is the result of the search (Result set A) AND "moon". The latter search has only one "Term", it has two "Operand"s, and all together the search involves three terms.
