numberOfRecordsReturned

When a Search fails, and the target sends "one or more non-surrogate diagnostic records", what should be the value of the numberOfRecordsReturned parameter in the Search Response PDU? Should it be zero, to reflect "no database (or surrogate diagnostic) records" or should it be the number of non-surrogate diagostic records?

The number of non-surrogate diagnostics.

This is inferred from 3.2.2.1.8 "... number-of-records-returned is the total number of records...". Had it been intended that only database and/or surrogate diagnostics be counted, it would say "response records" rather than "records".
