<origination> Origination
Description:
Information about the individual or organization responsible for the creation,
accumulation, or assembly of the described materials before their incorporation
into an archival repository. The <origination> element may be used to
indicate such agents as correspondents, records creators, collectors, and dealers.
Using the LABEL attribute may help identify for a finding aid reader the role
of the originator, e.g., "creator," "collector," or "photographer." It is also
possible to set the ROLE attribute on the name elements that are available
within <origination>, i.e., <corpname>, <famname>, <name>,
and <persname>.
The <origination> element is comparable to ISAD(G) data element 3.2.1
and MARC fields 100, 110, 700, and 710.
