MARC 21 Concise Community Information: Added Entry Fields (7XX)

Fields 700-740 contain added entries that provide additional access to a community information record from name and/or titles having various relationships to the community information entity. Added entries are assigned to records for persons, corporate bodies, meetings, and publication and program titles which are not given access through subject added entries.
The added entry fields in the MARC 21 Format for Community Information are modeled on similar fields in the MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data, where some descriptions of data elements can be found.

700 - ADDED ENTRY--PERSONAL NAME (R)

An added entry in which the first element is a personal name.
Content designators defined for this field are generally the same as those for the corresponding 1XX field where some descriptions can be found.

An added entry in which the name is not controlled in an authority file or list. It is also used for names that have not been formulated according to cataloging rules. Names may be of any type (e.g., personal, corporate, meeting).

740 - ADDED ENTRY--SPECIFIC PROGRAM TITLE (R)

An added entry for a title of a program within the entity. These may be cited in field 505 (Programs Note). A variant of a title of an event is contained in field 246 (Varying Form of Title).

  A value that specifies the number of character positions associated with a definite or indefinite article (e.g., Le, An) at the beginning of a title that are disregarded in sorting and filing processes.
