Fields 260 and 360 are used to record information about unauthorized forms of subject headings, different authorized forms of subject headings, and other variants not chosen as the authorized form when the relationships cannot be adequately conveyed by one or more simple cross references. The explanatory text and the headings referred to that are required in a reference record for subjects when relationships exist between an unestablished subject and established subjects that cannot be adequately conveyed by one or more simple cross references generated from 4XX See From Tracing fields in established heading records.
